OUR BELIEFS - (WE BELIEVE)
We believe that there is one God, manifested in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; Matt 28:19-20, 2 Cor 13:14)
We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, was born of a virgin, is wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose from the grave and ascended into Heaven. (John 1:14; 3:16; Matt 4; Luke 4; Heb 4:15; 2 Cor 5:21)
We believe in the literal, bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth. (Rev 19)
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God without any error, the sole authority for life. (2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe that man is a special creation of God, made in His image. (Gen 1:26-27)
We believe that mankind fell through the sin of the first man, Adam, and that all men are sinners in need of salvation. (Gen 3:15; Rom 5:12-15)
We believe that salvation is a gift of grace from God, received through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom 6:23, Titus 3:5, Eph 2:8-9, John 1:12)
We believe that every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 10:28-30; Eph 1:13-14; Heb 7:25; 10:10,14)
We believe that those persons who die without faith in Jesus Christ spend eternity in Hell and those persons who die with their sins forgiven, through faith in Christ, spend eternity in Heaven. (John 3:16; Rev 20:14-15)
We believe that water baptism is in obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after salvation. (Rom 6:3-10)
We believe that the local church is the local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the head. (Eph 1:22-23)
We believe that each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible, God’s Word. (1 Tim 2:5-6; Heb 10:19-26)
We believe in the separation of church and state, but not in the separation of God and government. (1 Peter 2:13-17)
OUR MISSION
Live Faithfully - Openheartedly Minister
Victoriously Exalt Christ - Evangelize
OUR METHODOLOGY
Our Love for God will be demonstrated in our love towards other Christians as we LIVE FAITHFULLY to disciple other believers which develops spiritual disciplines, deepens understanding and appreciation for Biblical principles, and teaches how to apply the Scriptures to real life.
We will OPENHEARTEDLY MINISTER and serve by discovering our spiritual gifts and using them to build the body of Christ and minister to both spiritual and material needs by the giving of self, time, talents, finances and other resources. As we OPENHEARTEDLY MINISTER we will fellowship through Bible Study classes, small group fellowship, and church wide events where we can build meaningful relationships, minister to one another, and become grounded in God's Word.
As a family of God's people, we invest in things that are eternal by VICTORIOUSLY EXALTING CHRIST and giving Him the personal and corporate worship that is due Him, so that even those who do not know the Lord will encounter His presence in us and realize their need for Him and be saved.
Further, our love for God will be demonstrated in our love for these without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by EVANGELIZING our lost world with the Gospel message. This encompasses sharing a verbal witness concerning Jesus, building relationships with those who do not know Jesus so that an audience for the Gospel can be earning, bringing lost people to outreach events, and supporting missions by giving generously, praying faithfully, and being personally involved.
Roopville Road Baptist Church was established in February of 1978. Fifteen men sat at a kitchen table and wrote down what they would be able to give toward purchasing land. When counted, it came to the exact dollar amount for the land acquisition.
The first building was a two-story building, 40 feet by 90 feet with Sunday school rooms and a fellowship hall in the basement. Soon, more room was needed for Sunday school classrooms due to growth. A new fellowship hall was built on the south side of the church and was quickly overcrowded. Therefore, the space was doubled in size in order to accommodate the congregational needs.
In the early 1990's, we again were pressed for much needed educational space. An educational wing was added across the backside of the auditorium, adding 8,000 square feet. The auditorium was extended twenty feet in length as well to accommodate worship space.
In the late 1990's, a Christian Life Center was started. The facility is approximately 32,000 square feet. It also houses a new Fellowship Hall that was dedicated November 19, 2000. Construction has been completed on the remaining portion of this facility which has a full-size basketball/volleyball court, multipurpose event floor, exercise facilities, indoor walking track and additional education space. This facility is to be used to the Lord’s honor and glory and to bring souls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. This facility now houses our temporary worship area as well. The old sanctuary was converted to space for our middle-high school ministry. Plans are now in the works for a new worship center that will also house new nursery/preschool accommodations as well as office and Sunday School space.
Roopville Road has had six pastors and interims before our present pastor, Stephen Peeples. The church now has 675+ members having grown from 55 charter members. The purpose of Roopville Road is “To invest in things that are eternal as we forever seek to love and glorify God” (Matthew 22:37-39). The fellowship of Roopville Road is “A Place for You to Call Home!”

To invest in things that are eternal as we forever seek to love God
Jesus said unto him, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." This is the first and great commandment. And the second like unto it: "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Matthew 22:37-39
And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying "All power is given unto Me in Heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Amen. Matthew 28:18-20
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also." Matthew 6:19-21
